“As I prepared to come to Ole Miss, I often found myself praying for what was ahead, asking the Lord for discernment and trust as I stepped into the unknown of the next four years. Leaving the comfort of my friends and family was not easy, and I felt a lot of fear walking into such a new chapter of life. Phi Mu was the very first house I entered during recruitment, and the moment those doors opened, I became teary-eyed with a smile I could not hide. I felt an overwhelming sense of joy and peace that I had never experienced before. That same feeling returned on bid day when I ran home to the place that has come to mean so much to me. Looking back, I do not think my younger self would have believed all that Phi Mu would become in my life. The Lord placed Phi Mu in my life exactly when I needed it most, and it has been the answer to so many of my prayers.
